The Retirement Services Division (RSD) is the largest
in the Department and is divided into two units:
Member Counseling and Member Support. The
RSD processes and administers non-health
retirement benefits to all retired Members;
including the approx. 500 sworn officers that fall
under LACERS' jurisdiction. Since 2007, the number
of Retirees in LACERS' system has doubled, many
requiring unique processes and guidance. In
collaboration with HBACD, the RSD participates in
offering group counseling sessions to educate
Members on their retirement benefits.
